Teacher Appreciation Post

We oftentimes neglect to appreciate our teachers for all the good they have done for us, teaching us what we need to know and if it applies molding us with strict discipline.

This is true for me, especially when I was still a wee little child content to laze away my life on candy and cartoons, giving no second thoughts to my studies. I was often blind to these events wondering why are street vendors lurking in our gateways, offering us trinkets and flowers for a price to be given as thoughtless gifts to our teachers.

I don't even know who's idea it is to hold a special occasion so trivial as Teacher's day but upon looking back, I appreciate the thought of holding an event focused on appreciating the under-appreciated heroes of all time.

Of course, such realizations were impossible up until after puberty but the fact that Teacher's day was present, a gift, as thoughtless as a cheap flower just bought at the school gate would make a teacher smile.

All this said, and as late appreciation of all teachers, instructors, professors and others who had made an effort to teach children, Happy teacher's day.

National Teacher's Month

It's National Teacher's Month in the Philippines!

National Teacher's month started in 2011-2012 when President Benigno S. Aquino III issued Presidential Proclamation 242, declaring “the period from September 5 to October 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Month.” It was a testament to how far the campaign has come when it first started in 2008.

Br. Armin Luistro F.S.C., then President of De La Salle Philippines together with Metrobank Foundation Inc., President Aniceto “Chito” Sobrepeña were the ones to spearhead  the Teachers Month Campaign, influenced by  the celebration of World Teachers’ Day on October 5 declared by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1993.

The declaration calls for a nationwide celebration of teachers, primarily to support World Teacher's Day, stimulate and refresh the image of teachers in the Philippines and revitalize the respect for the teaching profession, increase public awareness on the importance of teachers in the community, celebrate the role and service of teachers in guiding future responsible citizens in the form of children and their family, giving strength to the community and locality and building a better nation. This is also a time to call to attention everyone to contribute to the growth and positive development of the profession as well as general widespread support and assistance to education in general and to express sincere gratitude to teachers.

Students and parents alike, this is our time to give acknowledgement to teachers for their support and influence to us,  Happy Teacher's Month!

Starting an online journal

Hey guys and gals!

This is my second attempt of blogging. The first blog I made was abandoned some time ago because of priorities and time constraints but now here I am again. And this is my first post.

I would just like to give a background of myself and what this blog would be about. So I'm in college right now and my mind is full of  incomprehensible ideas meshed together. This blog would bean outlet for my fabulous, mostly of opinions and reactions to most things as well as emotional release for when my heart can't take the pressure. wink wink XD

I also do some gibberish poems and stories without an ending so if you wanna request something, just comment and I'll see what I can do :-)

Until next time then,

XOXO
